Category: One Mind Live Weekly Pre-Sessions

Fifteen minutes before each broadcast we turned on the mic to let our listeners in on our pre-meditation discourse. In it, we talked about everything from the weather to enlightenment – and how each affects the other – usually joined by whichever wonderful meditation guide we had with us that week. We had some really fascinating conversations over the five years (222 episodes!!) and it helped us tune in and get aligned with each other for this cool new way of preparing to meditate.

When Reverence Is Hard To Feel – Pre-Session

This episode was originally broadcast May 27, 2016 What do you revere? Does reverence seem hierarchical to you? Do you avoid it or seek out the feeling? Some of us try to feel it but can’t. Today we discuss the whole idea of reverence, what it brings to our lives and our spiritual practice and how to access the feeling…and the angel in Stephen’s mother-in-law’s dementia ward that seems to have reverence down to an art. About our Pre-Sessions: Every week, for 15 minutes or so before we began our group meditation broadcast, we opened the mics so that our members tuning in for the session could listen in while we talked about what was going on for us personally and spiritually, and what trends we were noticing. It was a fun way to get everyone settled and prepared for the journey to come, as well as a way to connect with us energetically. How To Avoid Being Triggered – Pre-Session

This episode was originally broadcast May 20, 2016 Nothing like the subject of getting pissed off to get us…laughing. Laughing about our human frailty and foibles. Today we talked about the whole sticky subject of getting triggered by others, what it’s like, what’s really going on with the ego, and – more importantly – what we can do about it. We ended up agreeing that pre-trigger strategies are important but that they have to have certain key features or they just won’t work in those moments when we’re seeing red (or are in some other way being activated). Listen in to hear what they are and let us know if you agree below.. Routine Enlightenment – Pre-Session

This episode was originally broadcast May 13, 2016 Do you hate routine or do you love it? And what part to do hate or love – the fact of the repetition or the things, themselves, that you have to repeat? Stephen came in to the studio with this one and the need to vent and rail against the insult to creativity and spontaneity that routine, at face value, is. But, as so often happens when we apply our three-way lens, the problem morphed into a solution. Listen to this pre-session to hear how we managed to turn changing the sheets into a moment of enlightenment…again and again…. Outing The Inner Victim – Pre-Session

This episode was originally broadcast May 6, 2016 Out your inner victim! In this pre-session, we talk about how, why and what it feels like to own that little sad voice that says “nobody appreciates me” and “bad things always happen to me” – and how to transform the victim into a victor. It’s all about empowerment…and, apparently, the Ice Age (you had to be there). For such a fraught topic, we sure had a lot of laughs with this one.
